Rolling Readers Seeking Volunteers

A love of literature, a wish to help local children, and just 30 minutes once a week is all that is needed to be a Rolling Reader volunteer. The "Read Aloud" program involved you reading one book to an entire class once a week. As a RR participant, you will attend a one-time, free orientation that gives you the opportunity to specify which day/time/school site you prefer, as well as tips on how to effectively read aloud. Since the program operates during the typical school day, many local companies allow employees to take a long lunch period in order to participate.

Another type of program that RR offers is the tutor/mentor partnership, which meets once a week with one child at a time. For more information, call (321) 254-9976 or visit www.rollingreadersspacecoast.com.

Habitat for Humanity

If you are interested in helping your neighbors and would like to spend a day or two building a home, Habitat for Humanity would like you to join them. For more information, or to volunteer your individual time, please call Deborah Bianchi, Assistant Volunteer Corrdinator, at (321) 255-5800.
